Abingdon Vale SC ventured west to Bristol to compete at Hengrove Park Leisure Centre 50m pool at their Level 1 Open Meet against mainly teams from the South West and Wales. Three AVSC boys medalled, with Max Bolcato, Daniel McNamara, and Luke Wilby making the podium:
Will Devetta (14) also swam sub 30s his 50m Fly with 29.72s, and Luke Wilby achieved a sub 60s time of 59.82 in his 100m Freestyle - coming 6th. AVSC Coach Bruce Rennie said "Swimming long course needs experience and practice, so it was great to see all the swimmers putting in great performances and achieving PBs. This is a great indicator of their current form, and provided their first 50m test on the route to this summer’s Regionals" Thanks to the City of Bristol swimming club for organising a well run event in a fantastic 50m pool which was modern, clean and with plenty of parking, seating and easy access - a credit to the city.
