Abingdon Vale Swimming Club finished the 3rd weekend of the ASA South East Regional Swimming Championships at Crawley with 13 Medals having made 18 Finals. A total of 14 AVSC swimmers competed over the 3 weekends of swimming with the following 5 medallists:
A further 4 swimmers, Lottie James(12), Daniel McNamara(13), Millie Royal(17) and Luke Wilby(15) all qualified in finals for their events, and Will DeVetta(15), Lauren James(15), Nienke Lijzenga, and Josh Rosh(12) set new PBs or AVSC Club Records in theirs. The standard of swimming in the South East Region is extremely high, with Abingdon competing against many bigger clubs including Oxford, Wycombe, and Milton Keynes. Overall a very successful championship. Many of these swimmers will have increased their rankings for selection in the British Nationals in July. Well done all Regional swimmers. Abingdon Vale, a Swim 21 accredited club, has been a competitive swimming club since 1993. As one of the most successful clubs in the County, we were crowned Sports Club of the Year and Coach of the Year in 2011. The club continues to build on this and is growing in numbers, being based out of Abingdon and Radley Pools. We now have more swimmers than ever before who are winning County and Regional medals and qualifying for the British and National Championships
