May 2015 Emily Ford joins Funkita’s F-Team of elite swimmers Funkita are pleased to announce that Emily Ford of Abingdon Vale Swimming Club has joined their group of elite athletes known as the F-Team. Emily caught the Australian swimwear company’s attention after she achieved the fastest 50m butterfly swim for a British 12-year-old girl when competing in the Olympic Pool at the London Aquatics Centre earlier this year (Zonals). Funkita - a leading brand in colourful, chlorine-resistant swimwear - will now regularly provide her with a variety of kit as she progresses in her swimming career. Funkita swimwear is ideal for frequent pool use; its vibrant prints won’t fade and its quick-drying designs won’t lose shape even after hours in chlorinated water. Emily, now 13 years-old, joins a number of top UK swimmers who are already F-Team brand ambassadors. These include Commonwealth and European medallist Aimee Willmott, Commonwealth gold medallist Sophie Taylor, Commonwealth/European medallist Molly Renshaw and Commonwealth medallist Duncan Scott. Emily is also helping Funkita and swim specialist Simply Swim to raise funds for WaterAid. WaterAid is a charity dedicated to transforming lives by providing clean water to those who otherwise would not be able to access it. For the 48 hours of Sunday 24th May and Monday 25th May, WaterAid will be given a donation of £2 from every Funkita swimsuit and every pair of Funky Trunks purchased from simplyswim.com. So the more Funky Trunks and Funkita swimwear bought from Simply Swim during the late May bank holiday, the more money raised for WaterAid. Which means that more people in the world’s poorest communities can have access to safe water and sanitation. Have fun, get fit, go fast, help others. Funkita.
