Aims of squad
The aim of the squad is to continue improving competitive performance, working to achieve the criteria for the Regional Squad and to qualify for the County Championships gaining places in the finals.
In order to belong to this squad, a swimmer must:
1)Attend 75% of all available training sessions and be on poolside 10mins before the start to loosen and stretch using their own initiative.
2)Show ability to train at the right intensity with the correct attitude
3)Be willing to make technical changes required to improve performance
4)Maintain their ability to fulfil squad criteria tests along with additional squad requirements which may not stay static, but may become more demanding as the Club evolves.
5)Keep a log book of training and competition
Criteria for entry to County Development Squad
These criteria are set as guidelines only for squad movement. Even if a swimmer fulfils the criteria, movement is dependant on the age of and maturity of the swimmer and squad space.
Potential new swimmers for this squad should be able to perform the following test sets.
1) Technique test
6x50 on 3 strokes, front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke showing and maintaining good technique and correct legal race turns, with a 30SRI.
6x25 butterfly. As above with 20 SRI.
2) Kicking test
8 x 50 front crawl kick on 90
3) Fitness test
Swim 800m within 14.30
4) Trainability test
10x50 fc set (record times with less than 3 deviations)
10x50 fc set (record pulse rate)
A2 pace. On 60.

Thursday OR 7.30pm - 9pm WHLTC
Friday 7pm – 8.30pm Our Lady's School pool
Saturday 7.30am - 9am Radley College Pool
Sunday 8.30am – 10am Radley College pool
