Vision And Values
Abingdon Vale Swimming Club is a small friendly club constituted in 1993. We are Swim21 accredited and affiliated to the ASA South East Region. We provide coaching on technique, fitness and stamina at sessions ranging from 1-2 hours, several times a week at Abingdon School Sports Centre and Radley College. We also have a regular land-training programme. Our aim is to produce the best performance in our swimmers by working hard and having fun.
The Club is run by our volunteer Committee which runs the business and social life of the Club. We encourage parents to be involved in this side of things as well as getting involved in the world of competitive swimming.
Our Vision
At Abingdon Vale Swimming Club we are dedicated to seeing swimmers achieve their full potential in competitive swimming. Our vision is to work hard together and to strive to provide every swimmer the best possible opportunity to achieve their best.
Additionally, we strive to be one of the premier clubs in the county and achieve results at County, Regional and National levels.
Our Mission
Beyond mastering stroke technique, race skills and achieving physical fitness swimmers at Abingdon Vale Swimming Club will be inspired and enabled to achieve excellence in the sport of swimming and in life. This will be achieved through discipline, respect, commitment, confidence, high self-esteem, sportsmanship, and an understanding that success results from hard work and goal setting. They will also learn the value of being part of a team. Our aim is to make swimming an important and enjoyable part of both our members’ and their families’ lives with parents actively involved in many aspects of the club.
